Thick smoke billows after small plane crashes at London Southend Airport
A small plane crashed shortly after takeoff at London Southend Airport on July 13, sending a large plume of black smoke into the air.

All departing flights from the airport were cancelled, according to local news reports. The passenger plane had arrived from Croatia earlier that day and was departing for the Netherlands. It is unclear how many people were on board.
