The Biden administration has sent a further $20 billion ahead of the new Trump presidency —but can there be a military solution to the conflict? Elina Valtonen, Foreign Minister of Finland —one of NATO’s newest members—says Ukraine and all NATO members want peace and are acting according to international law. Meanwhile William Courtney, a former American diplomat who has served as a U.S. representative in Eastern Europe, says there is no sign that a political settlement between Russia and Ukraine is within reach.
