Moncef Marzouki: Tunisia’s exiled former President | The InnerView
Moncef Marzouki, Tunisia’s first democratically elected president, joins Imran Garda from Paris with a message to the world: Tunisia is very sick and slipping back into dictatorship. Once a supporter of current President Kais Saied, Marzouki is now one of his fiercest critics, accusing him of dismantling the constitution and betraying the ideals of the Arab Spring. Now in exile once again, Marzouki still has hopes of returning to his country. On this episode of The InnerView, Marzouki talks about how charges of treason have affected him personally, reflects on the shortcomings of the Arab Spring, and ties them directly to the ongoing conflicts in the region, including the war in Gaza.
