Stephanie Gibaud: The woman who knew too much | The InnerView
In 2008, UBS employee Stephanie Gibaud refused orders from her superiors to delete all of her company files. Her act of defiance turned her life upside down: it made her a whistleblower in a multi-billion dollar tax evasion scheme involving one of the world's most powerful banks. Later as French investigators made use of her documents to seal a conviction against UBS, Stephanie was left on her own to deal with the fallout. She lost her lucrative job and found herself professionally ostracised and the subject of constant harassment.
Stephanie Gibaud tells The InnerView why her experience has left her feeling disillusioned with the world of finance and her government’s willingness to reform it.
