Attack on gold mine in Ituri, northeast of Democratic Republic of Congo, leaves at least 35 people dead and many missing, local officials say.
Notorious ethnic militia, CODECO, kills 18 villagers in a remote village of northeastern Ituri province, officials say, adding assailants used "machetes, arrows, firearms" in the attack.
Fighters from the CODECO group arrived at a displaced persons camp in the northeast of the country and killed at least 60 people.
