Winter storm is expected to wreak havoc on a nearly 3,218-km swath of the United States over the next few days, bringing heavy snow, ice, and bitterly cold temperatures.
Hundreds of thousands of people were without power in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida due to the storm, which was also making air travel extremely difficult in some regions.
The National Weather Service said in a tweet that US west will see "elevated and critical fire weather conditions and widespread chances for dry thunderstorms."
Stella is the most powerful winter storm of the season combined with winds of up to 95 kilometres per hour, causing treacherous conditions.
