Pakistani woman in Peshawar turned up at a hospital with a nail hammered into her head, allegedly on the directions of a faith healer to give birth to a baby boy.
The attack and the subsequent demands for better protection of women prompted the government to introduce new legislation, including the establishment of special courts to speed up rape trials and the chemical castration of serial rapists.
The victims were from Sabawoon, a non-profit charity that provides training to women on how to run a business from home and works to create gender rights awareness.
