At least 200 children died in the African country since January from drought-caused malnutrition, UN's humanitarian affairs agency says.
"Unless we scale up our response… many people, including at least 370,000 children, will perish before the end of the month of June," says Adam Abdelmoula, UN humanitarian coordinator for the East African country.
Destroying crops, killing livestock, Eastern Africa’s worst drought season in decades has led to famine and the mass displacement of people across Somalia.
The UN said that 4.6 million people will be in need of food aid by May 2022, calling for nearly $1.5 billion in funding to help tackle the crisis.

About 1.4 million children in the drought-devastated country are projected to suffer from acute malnutrition in 2017, 50 percent more than estimated earlier this year.
UN agency says some 6.2 million Somalis are in need of humanitarian assistance.
