Tropical storm Sally has left a trail of destruction across the Gulf Coast and Its remnants continued to push deep inland with heavy downpours, threatening flooding across the South all the way to Virginia.
The US National Hurricane Center said the storm could grow into a dangerous Category 3 storm as it pushes northwest in the general direction of Florida, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometres-per-hour.
The government says the attackers, who were dressed as traditional Donzo hunters, raided the village of Koulogon in the central Mopti region and that some of the victims were children.
Irma now upgraded to a Category 5 hurricane which means sustained winds of 280 kph. Puerto Rico has declared a state of emergency.
