UNESCO inscribed nine new sites to the World Heritage List at its meeting in Istanbul
Twenty-nine new sites will be examined by UNESCO to be inscribed on the World Heritage List.
As of June 2016, there are 48 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in danger; climate change is threatening to put many more sites onto that same list.
