Monuments in the ancient city of Hatra, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, were destroyed by Daesh in 2015.
UNESCO inscribed nine new sites to the World Heritage List at its meeting in Istanbul
Twenty-nine new sites will be examined by UNESCO to be inscribed on the World Heritage List.
