Families reunite at 'Door of Hope' on US-Mexico border
Tijuana is home to more than 100,000 deportees and for many, the annual border ceremony is an opportunity for protest as well as celebration.
There have been celebrations on the western edge of the US-Mexico border.
The border is opened annually for just one hour to allow a reunion for families who have been separated.
Families are reunited, and this year a family was formed when a couple were able to get married.
And as separated families came back together, the scenes were emotional.
TRT World's Alasdair Baverstock reports from Tijuana in Mexico.
