Many people in the once prosperous African nation are finding it difficult to afford Christmas celebrations this year.

The financial crisis has fuelled some of the biggest anti-government protests in a decade. Now with a $1.8 billion debt hanging over the government's head, many of the country's business vendors are struggling to make money this holiday season.
