Turkish town hosts its annual camel wrestling championship

Turkish town of Selcuk is also one of the most visited tourist destinations in Turkey, due to its close proximity to the ancient city of Ephesus, and House of the Virgin Mary.

The Turkish city of Selcuk is staging its annual camel-wrestling championship.

The tradition dates back 2,000 years. Up to 150 camels and their owners are taking part in the two-day event.

Held in an ancient stadium at Ephesus, the event has drawn thousands of spectators annually.
