The situation in Laikipia has been tense all year. There have been gun battles, people have been killed and livestock slaughtered. What's clear is that when there is a drought, people are desperate.

In Northern Kenya, drought and politics are raising tensions over land between herders and wildlife groups.

The conflict started earlier this year when herders from the north drove thousands of cattle down to Laikipia in search of grass.

TRT World's  Nicole Johnston travelled to the Laikipia Conservatory to meet a group of herders who are finding a new way to manage the land.
